Why We Should Give?

"It is more blessed to give than to receive." - Acts 20:35 (KJV)

Christmas is observed by everyone, young and old. And all those who believe that there is God who is too generous, loving, kind and merciful. And it is in this month of December where Christmas season is celebrated; the spirit of giving fills the air.

1. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. - 2 Corinthians 9:7

2. A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great. - Proverbs 18:16

3. For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. - 2 Corinthians 8:12

4. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. - Luke 6:38

5. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. - 1 Chronicles 29:14

6. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops. - Proverbs 3:9

7. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. - Luke 6:30

8. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. - Matthew 6:2

9. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” - Malachi 3:10

10. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. - 1 Corinthians 13:3

11. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31:9

12. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. - Matthew 10:8

13. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. - Proverbs 11:25

I believe that it is indeed more blesses for those who give. After all we should give back what we have and our life as an offering.

The more you give the, more blessings that would flow to you. We should really always be on the lookout on people we can help as it can make a world of difference.

I wish, next time I give a gift to somebody they won't be picky about it and just understand the true meaning of what I've gifted to him/her.
